Yeah , you are free to consider me a physchopath for deriving lessons or unnecessarily assessing the mundane happenings of Life to jump to conclusions about Life. But I am really not sorry for having this approach to look at things. In fact I am kind of liking my insights ;) :)
So recently I started working out, I am a debutant . Yeah , so late , simply because I lately did not add the so much of extra kilos. But now that I am into it (don't you read too much, I am just 2 weeks into it :D ) I simply love doing it. It kind of liberates me from myself .. Moronic ? yeah .. so let me rephrase ..
it releases me from my limitations which I considered was me .. but voila , it wasn't ...
So here are a few lessons I learned in gym :
#1) A mini warmup before you run :
It needs a considerable amount of perspiration to come out of your crust and start enjoying this run from yourself towards a better YOU. When I take a warm up of brisk walking of about 5 minutes and then start running for other 15 minutes( 20 is the time limit on treadmill), I use the initial 5 minutes for gaining control over my thoughts and tune my breath with my steps. Its after 5 minutes of run that I realize that my mind is melting and I am loosing those shacks of tensions and of course calories and sweat. After 10 minutes of continuous running I feel energized and further increase the speed to reach the milestones which I keep raising.
#2) Make your target of multiple parameters :
Yes I do that . My target on treadmill is 3.2kms/250calories/23minutes/5+ songs . In the process what I do is I achieve one target and start running for another finally exceeding all. Similarly on cycling , I try to complete 30 min/10kms with short breaks of reverse paddling. It makes the workout interesting, engaging and encouraging. Rather than fretting about the goals, keep them dynamic so that you enjoy chasing them
#3) De-focus and Walk an extra mile:
Strangely having set the above targets , if I continuously keep pondering about achieving these targets , I get stressed and lose focus. So what I do is , I just enjoy the process. From the very first minute , I try getting into the songs playing , loosen myself by letting my thoughts flow in a natural fashion just like the rivers if sweat that makes me wet. I let my fears come to my mind and increase the speed to fight them with aggression. I actually feel them getting dissolved in my sweat and get out of my mind/body/soul. At the end of exercise in last 3 minutes , I run at my highest pace, just like I did while finishing the 100m race in school with only difference that now I am running against me , challenging my own limits.
#4) Cool down before getting reheated:
After the running which is most rigorous in my routines , I relax my back ( being a PIVD patient). While I lie on the mat , I feel the ultimate calm , I feel the running cold sweat over my red skin condensing to give me serene feel. I close my eyes to listen to my heartbeat for next 2 minutes and then after some stretches I go back to breaking a new record.
#5) It is a drug now , just far more positive :
#6) Believe and fool yourself :
The fat burn is really a slow process. Though you feel that as you have been incessantly sweating and increasing the above targets , you may not see the drastic changes in your weight. But the fitness, stamina , energy and tire would definitely give you thrills. Go with this flow, you will love the results. Make it more than just a #weight-loss fling , get involved , get committed to the freedom it gives you. Keep fooling yourself by t not looking at the metrics. Sometimes we perform much better when we forget we are being measured. Get lost in your thoughts and actions rather than just focusing on the end result. As they say : "It's in the journey".
If this does not suffice, just think about wearing all the b'ful short/cut dresses you loved to wear some time back. You would love to get in shape before you get in those dresses.
Feel free to suggest your own learning, else I would keep adding mine !!

#5) It is a drug now , just far more positive :
Now when this has become a part of your routine like ablutions , like breathing like sleeping and dreaming , it would become increasingly difficult to do without it . The day you are not able to work out because of whatever reasons , you tend to feel futile. You feel low, as if something is missing like salt ? or glucose in the body. You may find it easy to skip a meal, a party or also at times reading just to get on track. Even the non morning persons like me, feel at their feet to get up early in the morning ( by early I mean 8 AM :D ) just to incorporate an hour of workout before their normal workday commences .
And trust me , you would not regret it. It is great if you can start your day with work out , just don't forget to drink/eat some calories before it. It is like a drug, you need it , you crave for it - every inch of your nerve, every muscle in your body and mostly the brain.
You are
addicted my friend - but to a far more healthy drug with only side effect of making you look sexier ;) :)
